I had never heard of Yin Yoga and the only reason I joined the class was because it fit in my schedule. I showed up to my first class expecting to be constantly moving as with previous yoga practices. Well I was in for a shock. This practice was expecting me to be still, shut my mind off, patience. Have I ever mentioned that I suck at meditation? Like really suck…my mind starts wondering to life within in seconds of a meditation. Grocery lists, what’s next in my day, to do list etc. So now I am in a class where I am expected to get into a pose, hold it for 3 minutes, and breathe. To focus on the present. My immediate thoughts were I am not going to like this. But as the practice began I went into a peaceful zone, I relaxed so much in the poses that I was in that twilight sleep at times like when you receive a massage.
